PREVIOUSLY, IN POMPES GROSCLAUDE’S NEWS:

“The company decided to invest in motor sports and to support Vincent DELAPLANCHE. He has been present on the Rally circuit for more than two years now and he has some serious goals in mind such as

pulling out all the stops to rent a 208 R2 in 2018 and take up driving once again! In the meantime, our co-pilot is lining up the competitions in order to reach the head of the co-pilot championships. Unfortunately, despite good performances and an undeniable talent, this is not proving that easy!”

So, how is he doing?

“During his visit to Pompes Grosclaude at the beginning of June we were able to see for ourselves that he’s doing just fine! Especially as he is now sixth in the PACA region Co-pilot Championship rankings and that, according to him, a place in the top five is «COMPLETELY DOABLE! ».

He was able to chat with the Pompes Grosclaude team and to tell us, amongst other things, that the sun in Lyon seems less clement than the sun in Grasse. However this did not stop us making him put on his racing jacket to take a few photos of his visit!”

21ST ESCARÈNE NATIONAL RALLY – ALREADY 2 YEARS AGO?!

This rally is very important to our racer! It was the first rally that he took part in as a driver behind the wheel of his Clio Williams N3. Cast your mind back to two years ago when he was ranked 31st in the overall rankings and third in the N3 class. Unfortunately, during the 20th Escarène rally, in 2016, his car suddenly left the road. That’s why THIS RALLY IS SO IMPORTANT TO HIM.

AS A RESULT VICENT TOOK PART IN THE 21ST EDITION OF THE ESCARÈNE NATIONAL RALLY, ON 29TH AND 30TH APRIL 2017, AS A CO-PILOT.

THE RALLY
Takes place over two days and contains eight special stages for a total length of 103.65 km.

THE PILOT

Vincent was very happy that Jacques SERET, two-time winner of the rally (2003 and 2005), was the pilot for this race. Missing from the rally circuit for eighteen months due to various reasons, Jacques was to drive a Mégane Maxi A7K once again over the legendary roads of the Col du Turini and the Col de Loda that he knows so well.

UNFORTUNATELY, THE TEAM WAS NOT ON THE STARTING LINE

We all know that success in this sport depends on several factors, mechanics, the weather, the state of the roads and of the team being just a few examples. That day, the SERET-DELAPLANCHE team were victims of mechanical failure. A problem had been found with the front running gear the day before the first stage of the rally. The team didn’t have enough time to ensure correct geometry and so the car was not holding the road properly.

HOWEVER, THIS BIG DISAPPOINTMENT WILL PROBABLY ONLY SERVE AS A BOOST TO OUR CHAMPION FROM GRASSE FOR A SUCCESSFUL RETURN MATCH NEXT YEAR!

3RD STAGE OF THE 2017 FRENCH RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP

RESULTS: : Withdrawal due to a mechanical problem (engine failure)

12TH CROISETTE REGIONAL RALLY, ORGANISED ON 26TH AND 27TH MAY BY THE ASA CROISETTE LEAGUE PROVENCE ALPES – CÔTE D’AZUR

RESULTS: : 5th in the general rankings, 1st in the GT group, 1st in the GT10 class
